Hey Nate, good on the twins - we had twins (identical - very...) nine years ago and are still delighted. A lot of work early on but they keep each other company. Just don't let them gang up on you.

To do it, there is no science to this although it takes a lot of practice in getting the bunch to be consistent and the correct thickness and most of this is done by feel. Starting with small one's is the best at your beginner. Don't forget to be legal on it!

Nate, this thread is great! I'm looking forward to applying these methods to my own cigar rolling.
The pictures and descriptions are great!

Used the info from this thread and rolled my first cigar! Its far from perfect but its a start. I dont have a mold so i rolled it in a small brown paper bag real tight and taped it up over night. Held together nicely. Then rolled the wrapper on next day.

I hope you are still rolling. Great info. I have been experimenting and nothing I have rolled has looked anywhere as good. I made my own mold but it looks a little different. I drilled slots in the center of two boards. It looks like yours is different. Not sure if that matters. I saw a guy on u tube that doesn't use a mold but uses strips of newspaper. Seem to work but doesn't look as good.

Do u think I need a different mold.?

Baylor, I tried that paper bag method, except I used a newspaper section and a rubber band instead of tape. I don't I got it tight enough but I'll still let ya know how it turns out.

You can go down to U-HAUL, and get some packing paper. It is all white, and rolls well on the sticks. Just twist the end good and fold it over then set aside for awhile. I got a thick plastic bottle, and cut the end off. Then cut a spiral at 2" wide to the other end. Then curl it up as You twist it to close to the size of the stick. Put the stick inside and adjust it to length. Slowly twist is untill it kind of gets snug and hold if for a minute or two. I use white paper first.
