Hi. I'm sort of new to this but the way it was explained to me: what the fermenting does is it basically ages your tobacco rapidly while converting some of the nicotine to sugar and getting rid of some of the chemicals in the tobacco. So instead of it taking years to get a good product it takes months. But really it's your choice I've noticed that unfermented tobacco seems to be more like a cigarette tobacco than a cigar tobacco.
