How do I work out how many plants must I plant, for about 365 robusto size cigars, 1 cigar a day. Limited space to plant, and to cure my tobacco.

Depending on the leaf size, a corona (~5-1/2" X 46) consumes roughly two leaves. A robusto, maybe 3. Estimate 16 to 20 leaves per plant. This gets complicated by the need for wrapper grade leaf for each cigar.

Wow!

"Limited space" is kind of a fly in the ointment when it comes around to maintaining a habit... :-(

Unless you're from Texas, I can't see where a small space could produce the amount you will require.

...but that's not to say you should not give it the old college try!

Good luck!

Thanks,
Spoke to a friend of mine, he will allow me to plant some cigar tobacco plants with his comercial virginia crop. Going to try 300 Sumatra plants, only got Sumatra seeds, (should make a few yummy cigars) no cigar seeds available in South Africa, my son in the UK will send me some more variaties for next year.
Regards
Ben
