Thank you, I would very much like to try growing some corn cob pipe stock, but think I will grow the red corn for a few more seasons to see if I can get them settled in...

I'll remain sideways about the gmo crap... if them scalliwags can inject things rudely into a gene, I'm wondering if cross breeding/selective breeding attempts might be able to remove influence of gmo's???
...Shows you what I don't know! lol

I'll cancel her efforts to grow any sort of sweet corn next year and grow only the mexican corn to see what happens.
With direct, manual polination as you describe, perhaps I can grow better quality red corn???

Somewhere I read that a seed company wants to see 8 year history to deem a strain stable.
Not really my goal, but I might put a few years into it... God willing and the crick don't rise! lol
