Since most members seem to be american here, I want to express my heartfelt sympathy for all of you who live in the areas that got hit hart by the storm Harvey.

If it is only half as bad, as the german news tell, I guess you have a tough time.

Good that american people are famous for helping each other in tough times.

My best wishes to all of You and may God be with You.

Thanks for your concern.
Yes, it is very bad, and it is not done, yet.
It will get worse, probably.

All of us will feel the effects of the damage in some way or another.
Many cars and trucks have been destroyed, and that area is where a lot of our gasoline and diesel is produced.

Fortunately there have been few deaths, so far.
Other places on the globe are now suffering from thousands of deaths from seasonal rainfall.

Best, rc

Far as I can tell, government assistance has been very little.

You might search for a news item, ' Cajun Navy ' ...

Intresting Info, thank you - I am always intrested how other nations deal with live.

Yes strange times - I am verry thankfull for the temperate clima we have in Germany (at least where I live) when I hear about all this, even when this year was the worst tobacco season I can remember.

Climate change or asteroids, I prepare for everything, experimenting with siberian and subrtopical food plants in my garden as well as with long time storable food.

This summer I ate some dried King Boletes, I picked at least 5 years before - they tasted great and nourishing.

I likely will pick a lot of them this autumn.

If you have interest in Texas, you might wish to read the MSM news article about Arkema, a French company with a branch doing business in Crosby, Texas... Their plant is about to explode, because of the flooding, and loss of power.

It does not sound good, at all...

Thanks.

No, it did not, and finally it exploded and we hear nothing anymore - not a good sign.

Now again the Americas got hit by storm and earthquake - wishing the best for all the people that are involved.

From recent news, it appears the entire island of Puerto Rico has lost power...
It must be very difficult and cause many serious problems.

I've been studying solar systems recently and hope to have a basic system operational, soon.
