Folks, It seams like boardome has set in on most sites lately? My son and His buddy were talking, and said member "BACK IN THE DAY"( Meaning last week) . I told Him that to say back in the day, is 20 years or so befor now. So, lets do a BACK IN THE DAY POST?
One liners or close is good.
A good story works, and no new junk.
Back in the day, You could smoke in the store and then go get gas, with a fellow to open the hood and check the oil, and put some in out of a carboard can. then wash the widows.
Back in the day, a jack was long, and fit a real bumper.
Back in the day, A good flick was a drive in.
Back in the day, You could spank Your child- Now they are the Judge.
Back in the day, We had a real pay phone.
Back in the day, a toy was one You could play with out side.
Back in the day, a boy would bag Your groceries and put them in Your car.
Back in the day, drive in package was real.
Back in the day, dirt and rain was more fun than the bath.
NEXT!

Back in the day
You could smoke in the store.
There was COD.
Gas was 55 cents a gallon.
An atendant would check Your oil and wash the window.
We had real operators on the phone.
Real phone books.
A simple note for a child would get You your cigarettes at the store.
Fast food was a grilled cheese sandwitch.
The TV remote was the youngsters.
Midnight was a test patern on the set.
The broom made the TV work.
TSR 80 was a joke.
Every one thought that tobacco was grown by big tobacco only, and was illeagle to grow Your self.

Well that's close... you can still have a cigar.

The bear on our flag is meant to be a Grizzly, and is modeled after a stuffed bear that had been named 'Monarch', which had died in captivity in a San Francisco Zoo.

Back in the day
You could leave Your keys in the car, and the house door un locked.
When a fight was an as* whipping and guns were for food.
The trunk was used to get into the movies.
We had drive through package.
Your spouse was the opposite sex, and really married to You.
Organic was looked down on because it was grey water farming and illeagal.
Cigarettes were on the TV adds, as good for Your health.
When MATEL made real toys.
TONKA toys were made of steel.
Juarez was fun.
A toy train was real and not on a screen.
Some one in the house could use a sewing machine.
A note pad used a pencil.
Beer didn't have a born on date.

Super man had a real phone booth to pop out of
a pager was a big thing to have.
PF flyers was the thing to wear.
Sweat pants and boxers was for the gym.
Men and boys had pants that fit - and on the waist, not the knees.
Zippos and matches were for starting fire.
You could work on Your car instead of the shop.
The good shows had cigars, and cigarettes in them.
Incoming calls were real people and not a recording.
Folks knew how to can food.
Where coffee was the power drink.
There was a May pole.
Where horse shoes and shufle board were the games as well as dominoes.
When every one had a preasure cooker.
The TV didn't need a box to make it work.
A&W was a fun place to go.

Back in the day - when you were young and wanted to know if a girl liked you, you tried to kiss her. If she said no or slapped you knew she did not like you. If she kissed you back, well it was all right. Now you would go to jail, your reputation would be ruined and you would be a social pariah.
