Yeah the days of the petro dollar are numbered and they've created a shocking mess trying to keep it going. I've been stockpiling canned food for a while now.

Me to thunderbolt. Trying to learn to be sort of sustainable with respect to food while I'm at it.
I always say this: Don't be scared. Be ready. In the mean time I'm enjoying life as would normally.

Couldn't agree more Jak,you gotta enjoy life no matter what. I'm still far from prepared I've got a couple sheep hope they don't wind up as food, a few chooks (chickens) need a bigger rainwater tank but we'll get there. I should be careful what sites I look up now as our government wants to pass laws where the telcos have to keep the metedata (whatever that is) for 2 years in the name of keeping us safe from terrorists. What a joke its just an excuse to spy on everyone I reckon.

Yeah me too...

My wife's Uncle (uncle-in-law? who says that?) has a pool with a saltwater purification system. He also has a reverse osmosis water filter. He's set for water. I will be converting my pool next season. haha Nothing like 30,000 gallons of drinking water immediately available.

The best information I have, at this point in time is the Big Berkey Water Filtration System, as sold here...

http://www.amazon.com/Berkey-BK4X2-BB-F ... B00BWIX1EQ

They seem to have the best reviews.

To generate potable water on a shoestring budget emergency circumstance, SODIS appears to be the best option.

I'd like a 10yr supply of cheeseburgers!

Mmmmmm Cheese burgers... now I really really want one... new lunch plans? Yeah probably.

Also, that water filter looks sweet. Will save in my cart till I have some extra dollars. That is very cool indeed.
