Hey everyone. ..I've managed to get rid of the majority of my seedlings to frozenthunderbolt...so he's scored some of the best. .newest varieties in n.z.

A big thanks to BaccerKiwi for this; He has given me more than i can plant ATM - I'm aiming to get 3 of each variety in and grow for some good clean seed.

If anyone else up around Helensville - North-west of Auckland wants some plants send me a PM and i'll sort you out

So, out in the greenhouse have a ciggie.
I have growing atm,
Burley 21
Bursa
Silver River
Vesta 64
Havana
& Black Mammoth.

The only spare seedlings I will have are black mammoth.
Any other varities will have to wait until I harvest.
:)

Happy to wait for seed, Thanks Rianaku :D

That should be enough for seed at a minimum, and to give me a taste of each to see what i like.
Gonna make some more garden tomorrow to put more in when i can get to the garden center and buy some more compost - i've got 9 locals so far who have volunteered to take some of them and grow them on.

Got to make sure none go to waste! :P

A basic rule of thumb is 30 plants for a one pack a day smoker. A realistic rule of thumb - plant 40+ for one pack per day to account for loss (weather, insects, etc...).

I'm a 1-2 cigars and pipes a month kinda smoker, especially since i got pneumonia earlier in the year :-)

I am however keen to preserve seed of these varieties to make them widely available in NZ.

I have had 5 people take plants so far today (along with a basic guide sheet + link to this forum and FTT) and have another 11 lined up to get some either today or tomorrow!
At least two of them have promised to return seed (grown to spec.) at the end of the season too.
I've been running round like a chicken with it's head cut off all morning

I'm now up to 5 of each in the ground which gives me 40 plants total:
-5x CT- 49
-5x CT- Shade
-5x Dutch Ohio
-5x Havana -21
-5x PA Red
-5x PA Broad
-5x Magnolia (?) Wrapper
-5x Massachusetts CK1

+ one self seeded Havana greenstem (i'll smoke only, not save for seed - have the pure strain saved already)

I think i'm well sorted now
