I'm still waiting for my seed pods to ripen but I guess I can start the seed train in hopes for getting it out Mid-Nov. as there isn't a big rush to plant anything till early spring.

Here's the deal:
I'll start with a priority mail box with tracking number and I'll have packets of seeds in it. The next person will do the same and take out what ever seeds he needs put in what he has and send it the same way to the next person.

Here's the rules:
To participate you must have at least 100 substantive post.
1. put 1/16 tsp of seeds in each packet. Seeds must be in individual packets for individuals to easily take them.
2. List type of seed, year harvested, whether open pollinated or bagged.
3. You should have a ton of seed so try to put at least 5 packets of each variety.
4. If you already have a variety don't take it out. Leave it for someone else who may not have it.
5. send in priority mail box with tracking.
6. send it out the next day after you send it and post the tracking number here so we know you actually sent it.
7. Once it has gone to everyone we'll send it through one more time in order so those at the top get a chance to get seeds others down the line have put in.
8. Last person sends it back to me, we'll use what is in it to help people later on who need seeds who are just starting.
9. If you don't adhere to the rules you'll be shunned forever and your crops will totally be eaten by horned catepillars.

So if you think you can do this sign up below and pm your address so I can organized the list. Feel free to put down what you think you'll be putting in the box.

That sounds like fun, but I'm really not organized! lol
Strains are segregated, but stored in a number of containers, mixed in with veggie seeds and all sorts of things.
...So that means I need to sort things out! lol

One more thing on the list !

I'll do it.
Will need to spend most the winter sorting out things in prep for the springtime.
:-)

I would like to participate but I am 83 posts short of the 100 required. Maybe next season?

Well I'm not sending this out till November sometime. My pods aren't brown yet. So go do some decent posting.

Yes, if they're not posted here, and are of tobacco or something very funny.

This is a GREAT idea.
I would be more than happy to participate, unfortunately I'm short on the post count, and I started late on my plants.
I'm hoping that I"ll luck out being that I'm in S. Fla. I'm hoping to harvest seed in December.
Will have Virginia, Burley, Samsun, and Havana.

I mean keep this thread for posting that you want to do this and what you're contributing to the seed train. Go do your posting of other stuff in the appropriate forums on this board.

This sounds great to me could help folks out a lot.
NRustica is this open to only US ?.
what happens if you receive the packet and you have every strain in there i guess you just pass it on.
you say try to put at least 5 packets of each variety if you have a lot of strains could you put a mixture in, say 1 packet times 20 each packet a different strain.
i have a good few strains now, some a bit of the beaten track which may appeal to some but am not sure if being on the other side of the pond could be a problem.

Unfortunately, I think having it go across the pond might cause it to be lost or really take a long time to return. Perhaps after the second go around we could send it across the pond for a seed train over there and then after a couple of rounds have it return here. Is there tracking in the postal systems of Europe?

I really want at 5 packets of each type. We should have more than enough seed to spare if we had some ordinary seed bearing plants.

I have about a cup full of golden seal burly seed, I lost the others in the fire I had. If that's not enough I could grow a few others for seed next year.
