I would love to receive some of your seeds.
I am going to be growing it for cigarrettes.

I sent my address to you in a PM.

Thank you for offering this. It might just be exactly what I need to get started.

Well, i am on my way to becoming a tobacco farmer. Them atztec rustica sure germinate fast. Had to do a second and a third batch just to make sure i was right.... yep 26 hours after seeding i had germination, 12 hours after that i had 2 green leafs. And they are passing all other varieties seeded weeks earlier. Oh, and 100% germination
Thanks sky

I got those seeds in the mail today. Thanks a bunch, I will return the favor someday. I have read that they only take 36 hours to germinate, guess I will know in a couple of days.
Thanks again

skychaser have you any pics of your rustica? what sort of yield per plant did you get? I am accumulating information am growing out a variety I would think from my geographical location Asia. I am looking forward to growing mine out to see if they are much different to your North American cultivars.

Yup. I have lots of picts. Here is a link to the Aztec I grew in 2010 and the Mohawk, Isleta Pueblo and Sacred Wayandot I grew in 2011.

http://skychasers.net/rusticas.htm

This year I am growing Sacred Cornplanter, Punche and Clevelandii. The Clevelandii is from wild seed from central California that RC collected in 2011. They are growing very well so far. Thanks Again Rusty. :) I'll add some picts of those later in the season.

As for yield, Aztec and Isleta Pueblo can yield about 1 oz from the best of plants. Most plants will average closer to 1/2 to 3/4 oz. Mohawk yields around 1/2 oz on a good plant and Wyandot is the lowest at maybe 1/8 oz average. Wyandot grows very quickly and matures earlier than any of the others. It flowers in only 35 days after transplanting.

demetroy... Sorry it took me so long to reply.

I still have lots of Aztec seeds so swallow your pride and send me your mailing address. I don't want your money. Just pass the favor on to someone else someday if you can. What would I do with Kangaroo dollars anyway? lol

And because you are in Australia, which has some of the most insane tobacco taxes in the world, I will send you seeds from any of the varieties I have. And you can grow yourself a field full. Take that tax man.

On second thought, you could send me 1 Aussie dollar. Just because I have never seen one. :)

To the 6 people who asked for Aztec seeds, and other things in the past few days, weeks, and maybe months now...Well they are finally in the mail! Look for them soon in a mail box near you. A few extra things fell into some of the envelopes too. Happy growing!
