I have an abundance of Aztec Rustica seeds that are free to any member who wants them. Just pm me your mailing address. Don't be shy about asking. I have LOTS! Pass them out to your friends and neighbors or play Johnny Tobaccoseed with them. It's all good. Even if you are reading this a year from now I will probably still have some left.

These plants will grow to about 30 inches high, 36 inches including seed heads. They grow multiple side stalks (hard to really call them suckers) and bush out, so space them out further than most plants. They are fast growers and mature early. Flowers start appearing in about 60 days after planting. Clipping the seed heads is pointless because they will just grow more and it doesn't seem to improve the leaf quality. Leaves range from small to medium size. The biggest leaves are about 16" long and 12" wide. It air cures easily and goes from green to brown.. The smoke is mild and has a surprisingly nice taste, but it has a very high nicotine content. It should make an excellent blend with low nicotine varieties.

Sky

edit: I forgot to mention that hummingbirds and honey bees absolutly love these plants and they bloom for several weeks. If you want to attract hummingbirds, plant these!

johnc, rustycase, northcountry, oldemagics,

Your seeds made the morning mail. You should have them early next weeks. :)

I still have plenty left. The 5 packets I sent out so far barely made a dent.

Everyone who has asked for seeds so far should have them by now, or be getting them in the next couple days. If you don't get them it's because the mailman has decided to grow his own too. Let me know and I'll send more.
I still have a pint jar full of seeds. And a bucket full of pods too.

Them postal folks could have a fun time with this, Sky...
I moved a small bag of pods to a different spot on the shelf and noticed a number of seeds on my palm...
The bag was not quite the quality product I thought it was...

I suppose them little tiny seeds will be growing at every post office and along every mail route, sooner or later!

:D

Sky,

Thanks! Received package yesterday. Don't know if I have the resolve to wait until time to start them. Maybe I should move somewhere I could grow year round.

I hear ya Pizzadude. I get the urge to head south every November, for tobacco growing or not. I always planned on getting myself a little winter retreat shack out in the desert some where. I had family in the Palm Springs area for 25 years. I love it down there. But California is way to freekin' liberal for me to live in now days. And Arizona has been given to Mexico. So I'm thinking southern Nevada might be the place to be now.

anyhooos, I still have lots of those Rustica seeds left if anyone else want some.
