BBC television in the UK:
We are making a documentary about the History of Tobacco, presented by Hollywood Actor Brain Cox. The programme will be broadcast in Britain, but it may well also make it to the USA.
I'm interested in finding someone who is a passionate tobacco grower to tell us about more about the botany and origins of the plant. It would be particularly exciting to meet someone who grows tobacco as a hobby and has a real long term interest in it.
We are filming over the next few weeks and months around the UK.

They contacted me and said they's be coming up to film in the next week or two. That was months ago now! I can't see the BBC allowing tobacco growing programmes. Everything is all so anti-smoking now.

Hi Oldhag
Yes there is the anti smoking side, but deep down if everyone knows how easy it was to grow in the UK, can you think of the loss of revenue the government would loose. I think that is the main reason why the program is a non starter. Just keep us all working like slaves LOL !!
