A member contacted me referring to my mention of making press boxes and wanted one. Thus, I ran a dozen. If any member is interested, the cost will be $35 delivered to the 48. I'm a retired custom cabinetmaker-builder, so they are made right. I used 3/4" cherry plywood with black laminate on one face which faces the inside. Box measures 6" x 6" x 6", and comes with a 3/4" and 1 1/2 insert. Joints are biscuit joined with waterproof glue. After pressing and one cut in half, will give two tobacco blocks measuring 2 1/4" x 3" (prox) x 4 1/2". Finish is bees wax. Full instructions will be included. PM me for any questions.

I believe they are used for pressing tobacco into a plug for shredding.

Yes, they are used for making plugs for shredding. Will get some photos up with more info when I get a chance-pretty busy right now. You do need a clamp, vise or press. Std. pipe clamp works fine.

I plan to press most of mine for plug and flake . I am a pipe smoker and like that method of preparation . Though northcountry had a good deal on the boxes , being a woodworker myself I have built my own. I am waiting for the veneer press screw to come from Grizzly to finish it up.
