I have not used one of these shredders but there are websites selling them as tobacco shredders and also you can find them on ebay, was thinking of buying one but didn't go ahead with it

video of someone using one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TkE31o8QO80

Looks like it does the job! :)

Thanks for the link to the video. It does seem to work well. I wonder how well it is built , and if it will hold up for a while.

Yes. I bought one of those from these people: http://www.tobaccoandmachines.com/index ... ukty&id=21

The cost of shipping from Poland was about the same as the item. However it was fast and tracked. And altogether it worked out at around €30 (EUR) to the UK.

I got the finest cutter they had. 0.8 mm. I'd prefer a finer cut. The hand rolling tobacco I buy is half that, or finer. The machine works very well. Although I haven't shredded very much because its not ready yet. I try a piece every so often to see what it's like. Just enough for a cigarette. It's getting there, but still a bit rough. Anyway the machine is well made and does an excellent job. It's not very big, and not suitable for large volumes. The width of the roller cutters is around 2 inches. But for one person for personal use it's great. I also bought a spare set of combs at the same time for around €4. They are held by screws on the underside, and the comb teeth engage with the grooves in the cutter. I don't know whether they wear out, but I presumed from the fact that they were sold as spares that they must. And considering the cost of shipping and their relative low cost I thought it would be sensible to order them at the same time.

Tobacco needs to be fairly dry to cut nicely. Not bone dry or it'll turn to dust. Not too damp or it'll clog in the cutter. You'll find what works best without any trouble.
