It's made from the blade assembly from a junk paper shredder found in the scrapyard. The blade assembly seems to be built tough but the motors and drive gears seem too cheap to last long.I guess that they make them that way so you need to buy a new one before long.Kinda like everything else.

The crank from a boat trailer winch is welded directly to the drive gears.

Nice fluffy shred and fun to run also.

Looks good Mark

Never seen the innards of a paper shredder before.
Does it work with rotating drums and wipers or are my eyes deceiving me?

Guess what I should ask is can you post a pic with the hopper off?
I do like the idea of a hand crank shredder

Thanks Doc
One thing i didn't mention is the first time through you get very coarse shred has one would expect from a paper shredder and thats why i built the hopper.I found that feeding it through 3 times gets it great for injectors. You can do it more or less if you like.It only takes a couple minutes to run a pound.

I just gutted another one today with a whole different blade assembly. It was just negleted and packed full of paper dust.I'll give it away for shipping cost if it works out.Just gotta gut it more yet

These shredder knives probably cut through thousands of sheets of paper and still have the bite to take off a chunk of meat off your finger tip.(been there)

I ground up a quit a few pounds so far with no signs of dulling.Heck :D instead of sharpening just pick up another for free :D

Seems they built one part right.

Where you at Northcountry?
