I live on lime stone country,to bring my ph closer to neutral (It was off the chart Alkaline) I dug in heaps of composted pine needle and finely mulched pine cones. (They are handy just across the paddock)
I read years ago it wouldn't work that there would be not enough acid to make a stick of difference. Being the stubborn bugger I am I gave it a go. Pine needles are now the bulk of my compost heap.its a great blend for Akaline soil,Its not by far an overnight fix but it will help balance soils over the long term.

Take a sample to Your local garden center that grows plants in Your area. They can tell You for free. Just ask them what You will need? It's part of makeing a sale to them.

we occasionally spread lime on the fields. We always use a ton of YaraLiva Tropicote 15.5-0-0

I just put some 20.0.0 on some tomatoes last week. I made it to hot and burned the root balls. I ripped them out and changed the soil to see if that works. Don't do that! Ha Ha. What a brain fart? Mad-
