I am curious, how many of us would love to have someplace to go talk to friends with raising our own tobacco in common with each other, and share other aspects of our lives with each other?
Like: Motorcycling Smokers, Bible Thumpers, Politics, Home brewing,
Mother Earth type living, Country living, City Dwellers, Fishing, and lots more as people see a need for the group.

I am not talking about some place to pick a fight, I am talking about being able to connect with like minded individuals without age, race, country, or distance being in our way. Sure, I can exchange emails with friends, and do, but what about new people? If we had some groups they could pick one or several that fits them, and make this great forum, feel even more like family. Yes, there are differences in families, we could have common rooms and talk only tobacco issues, and some for personalities.

What is the general feeling on this idea? Take the poll please. You only get one vote.

It seems to me like this has happened naturally. I have noticed that the board has moved that direction by adding group specific topics on self reliability/preparedness and gardening. I would guess that Roy might add another section/topic or two if asked.

You had to be REALLY fast to get to vote on that one. Although I would have voted the same as the majority.

I don't see any reason for a "private" members only forum. We aren't seeing substantial participation in the "smokers lounge". A members only fora would still be visible to anyone (Government) with prying eyes. I Assume PM's are protected to the extent possible by the administration of this board, although might hand that info over under a warrant issuance.

We have many guests that haven't registered yet. Often our guests won't register until they have a question or only have a casual interest so will never register.

This was actually an older topic but I was informed that at the time there were some with a religious background that did not mind talking religion with tobacco and others that did not want to hear it and only wanted to talk tobacco. There are also extreme liberals and extreme conservatives that might have wanted a place to speak without having to worry about offending anyone else. The concept is a good one but I find it healthier to keep the board the way it is. It monitors itself for the most part. People see and appreciate the views of others and the ones that cannot acept the basic fundamentals of the board are kicked off or leave on their own. I have noticed two are no longer with us just in the last month.

I'm in sync with you Shihan. Let the free thought flow and things will self regulate.

I disagree 100%. I have been in forums with no censorship. It is not a fit place to go.
I appreciate the censorship here, in fact, I wish there were more. Some posts are just more proper in the boys locker room than here. I can't talk religion, why can sex jokes be made here? I find them boring, juvenile and offensive. Some days the forum is not a pleasant place to be, if you are not male.

No offense intended Ozark, but you don't have to read them.

Don't you see that by the time she reads them it's too late to not read them. After all this is the How to grow tobacco forum.
